After years of experience in both operational and executive
roles managing contractors or operating as a contractor,
Mischelle Tickner, Peter Lewis and Hugh Tickner recognised
the many exposures and operational management risks and
issues associated with contractors.
The need to effectively manage contractors lead to the formation and start of
SAFcomm®. SAFcomm® is the product of the combined skill, knowledge, National & International
experience of contractor management by the executive team.

Prior
to Peter's consulting roles, Peter has held executive
positions in leading multinational resource and contracting
companies. This provides clients extensive corporate
and operational experience in leading Australian and
international companies. Clients can apply the experience
of specialised knowledge of Health Safety & Risk
(SH&R) strategy and policy development, change management,
behavioural change, crisis and emergency management
systems. Peter has worked operationally in metalliferous
mines and has 10 years experience as a fire-fighter/emergency
rescue team member.
Formal qualifications:

of Applied Science (OHS)
Graduate
Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management.

Mischelle
has 10 years hands on experience in the mining and heavy
earthmoving industries in safety, training, administrative
and contractor management roles.
Over the last four years Mischelle has worked closely
with Senior Management of varying companies to develop
internal systems for safety training and risk management.
Some of the contract projects included:
- Develop and implement internal OH&S, Environmental
and Training management
system tools.
- Develop internal company level and site specific
training modules for delivery via various mediums.
EG CBT and Formal Class Format.
- Contractor management, including safety management,
safety training, compliance management.
- Conducting benchmark studies on operational
and maintenance efficiency.
- Analysing plant
availability and utilisation for accountability
and control.
- Systems and documentation gap
analysis.
- Project management of recruitment
and training for shutdowns.

Hugh has extensive experience
in the mining industry both in line management and major
project management positions. Hugh has specialist skills
in Process Plant Supervision and Management, Occupational
Health and Safety, Change Management and Company Reorganisation. Hugh has
been employed by Hamersley Iron and Argyle Diamonds
and has undertaken major consulting roles with:
- Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines
- Dampier
Salt Limited
- Robe River Iron Associates
- Kennecott Mining
USA
- Pilbara Iron, and;
- Various Rio Tinto overseas

Hugh has managed $100 million process plant upgrades, major maintenance and spare
parts analyses, implementation of Safety and Health Systems and has reviewed
outsourcing projects.
